U.S. Two-Anti Probes on Hardwood Plywood from China

 
On October 18, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced starting its antidumping and anti-subsidy probes into hardwood fancy plywood from China, at the request of Coalition for Fair Trade of Hardwood Plywood.

The requestor is calling for 298.36%-321.68% antidumping duty rates and micro anti-subsidy duties.

Reportedly, in 2011, the U.S. imported totally USD 616.5 million worth of hardwood fancy plywood from China, as shown below:

The U.S. International Trade Commission will give its preliminary ruling of industrial injury on November 13. With an affirmative ruling by the Commission, the Commerce Department will make its preliminary rulings for the anti-subsidy in December 2012 and for the antidumping in March 2013 respectively.
