Anti-dumping Duty on Chinese Mandarins

 
The EU Council adopted, on 19 February, a regulation re-imposing a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of mandarins (including tangerines and satsumas), wilkings and other similar citrus hybrids not containing added spirit, whether or not containing added sugar or other sweetening matter, originating in China. The anti-dumping duty is generally €531.20 per tonne, but is a little lower for some companies. Copa-Cogeca urged the Commission, on 16 January, to reinstate an anti-dumping duty immediately on imports of preserved mandarins from China. The European agricultural organisation warned that further postponement would have a "devastating effect" on EU producers, whose production costs are twice those of their Chinese competitors.
