According to Mexico's Financier news of March 4, Mexico's Ministry of Economic Affairs decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on synthetic chemical fiber blankets from China (including printed, smooth, and those with or without embroidery) at the demands by Apolo Text and Grupo Textil Providencia.

These two enterprises above are the only manufacturers of synthetic chemical fibers. Although they also imported products from China because of cheap prices, they think the imports from China are at lower import prices. In addition, the imports continued to rise in recent years, and the imported synthetic chemical fibers from China not only affected the output in Mexico but also reduced the benefit, as well as the sales volume.

In 2009, the imported synthetic chemical fibers from China took up 44.15% of total imports of this product to Mexico. In 2011, it rose to 74.23%. During this period, the imports from China rose by 215.36%.

The Mexico's Government said that the dumping investigation period lasted from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012, damage investigation period from January 1, 2009 to June 30, 2012.

The Mexico's Administration of International Trade Practice will accept the charge and arguing materials by both sides at latest on October 25. The public hearing will be held in March 18, 2013 in Mexico City.
