EU to Levy 2-year AD Duties on China Solar Cell Panels

According to WSJ news of December 2, the EU has decided to levy antidumping (AD) duties on China-made solar cell panels for two years from December 6, with support from its member states.

Reportedly, a photovoltaic trade agreement was made by and between the EU and China in July, which sets a floor price and an import quota for the China solar panels. The incompliant Chinese exporters will be subjected to the antidumping duties, averaged at the rate of 47.6% in August.

The July's agreement was under the background that many EU members, especially Germany, did not want the escalation of EU trade friction with China about solar panels.
