Russia's Measure of Levying 15 Percent Tariff on Import Car Body to Become Long-

Reported by Russia Interfax news agency, according to the N616 governmental decree signed on July 30, Russia government will levy 15 percent tariff on import car body in long-term. This decree will come into effect as of August 14.

Since November 14, 2008, Russia government began to levy special tariff on import car body for nine months as a control measure, with the tariff rate of 15 percent ( no less than 5000 euro for each car). The purpose of levying special tariff is to prohibit the way of importing car in the name of auto components, said Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade.
