According to the released new rules, Mexico imposed special tariffs on some steel products from China and United Kingdom on January 5 in a bid to protect domestic producers.

The provision said that due to the rising price of steel chain imported from China in recent years, Mexico will charge 50 cents per kilogram tariff for steel chain imported from China.Mexico levied a tarrif equivalent to 5.91% of the toal value on welded steel pipe from UK. Previouly, an enterprise in Mexico claimed that the pricing of British manufacturers is unreasonable.

Mexico also imposed U.S.$50 of tarrifs on China's steel chain per kilogram, because Mexico's imports soared in recent years.

Mexico's enterprises believed that China' s subsidies to domestic manufacturers can gain the competition advantage with similar products in Mexico.
