Bengal Finance Minister Refused to Recollect Tariff on Raw Sugar

According to the news from Bengal Financial Express in Dacca on March 9th 2010, Bengal Finance Minister denied the NBR's (National Board of Revenue) suggestion of recollecting tariff on raw sugar, to avoid arousing price fluctuation in edible sugar market. He also said that the NBR shall conduct negotiation with Ministry of Commerce in prior on the matter of adjusting import duty on raw sugar.

In August 2009, to stabilize raw sugar price, the Ministry of Commerce of Bengal proposed to cancel the import duty of 4,000 Taqa per ton (converted to 58 U.S. dollars) on saw sugar.
