Bangladesh Provides Tariff Exemption for 18 Products from Bhutan

Bangladesh's Minister of Commerce announced on March 31st 2010 that there were 18 products from Bhutan, including fresh vegetables and fruits, ginger, jam, fruit juices, mineral water, limestone, plaster and calcium carbonate, to enjoy tariff exemption as of April 2010. Before this, Bhutan had implemented zero-tariff on some of products from Bangladesh (including garments, computer parts, dry foods, prepared medicines and cosmetics, etc.)

According to statistics, Bangladesh's annual import from Bhutan amounts to about USD 14 million, its annual export to Bhutan at about USD 1 million.
