South Africa Raised Anti-dumping Duty on Chinese Garlic

The International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC) announced on March 26, 2010, that South Africa had made a final ruling for the mid-term anti-dumping review on fresh or chilled garlic (for which South Africa's HS codes are respectively 0703.20 and 0712.90) originated or imported from China. According to the ruling, it is required to raise the anti-dumping duty on the aforementioned Chinese products to 10.37 Rand per kilogram from current 6.07 Rand per kilogram with the standpoint that the current rate is not enough to eliminate the material injury caused by such Chinese products to South Africa's related industries.
