According to the report from Russia's Interfax News Agency on April 15, 2010, the possibility of levying 8.5 percent tariff on exported potassium chloride, proposed by the Federal Customs Service of Russia and supported by the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) of Russia, is now under deliberation by Russian Government, the final decision to be made by the Federation Council of Russia with Vice-Premier, Mr. Shuvalov, as Chairman, said the Director of FAS.

At present, the FAS's opinion, levying 8.5 percent export tariff, needs further discussing with the Government whose decision may also change. Before this, the relevant authorities had made research on the tariff rate of 15 percent on exported potassium chloride, which was subject to 5 percent from April 2008 to April 2009 and afterwards enjoyed zero-tariff.
