Uzbekistan Raised Tariff on Imported Autos

The tariffs on imported autos were raised as of April 1, 2010, according to the Decree of "Conducting Revision on Some of Presidential Decrees" signed on April 2, 2010, by Islam Karimov, President of Uzbekistan.

Autos with engine capacity less than 1,000 cubic centimeters: tariff rate is 30% (20% previously) plus USD 1.8 per cubic centimeter.

Autos with engine capacity more than 1,000 cubic centimeters but less than 1,500 cubic centimeter: tariff rate is 30% (20% previously) plus USD 2 per cubic centimeter.

Autos with engine capacity more than 1,500 cubic centimeters but less than 3,000 cubic centimeters: tariff rate is 30% (20% previously) plus USD 2.5 per cubic centimeter.

Autos with engine capacity more than 3,000 cubic centimeters: tariff rate is 30% (20% previously) plus USD 3 per cubic centimeter.

In addition, the import tariff on used autos was raised to 40% (30% previously) plus USD 3 per cubic centimeter.
