On May 6, 2010, some official from the Ministry of Commerce of Bangladesh revealed that China is about to start the import tariff-free policy for 4,721 items from Bangladesh, covering 40% of Bangladesh's exports. Bangladesh's main exports to China include raw jute, leather, shrimps/prawns, garments, camera parts, copper wires, scrap plastics, and so on; According to Bangladesh's view, the tariff-free access of Bangladesh's exports to the Chinese market is very important, as the Asian economic growth depends primarily on the expansion of the Chinese market; Bangladesh looks forward to the earliest negotiation with China on the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement (APTA).

Currently, Bangladesh enjoys tariff-free export to 27 EU countries and also has hundreds of products enjoying tariff-free customs clearance to some countries in North America, Asia and Oceania.
