Iran to Raise Import Tariff on Automobiles to 90%

According to a report on June 17, 2010 from the Iran Daily, the Iranian Parliament will raise the import tariff on automobiles to 90%.

In March 2010, the Iranian Parliament passed the proposal on reducing the import tariff on automobiles to 70%, reducing 20% from the previous tariff of 90%, aiming at promoting the domestic manufacturers of automobiles to improve the quality and strengthening their competitiveness against foreign automobiles.
