Russia-Kazakhstan-Belarus Customs Union Tripled Import Tariff on Second-Hand Tyres

According to a report on August 30, 2010 from the Moscow Interfax, the Russia-Kazakhstan-Belarus Customs union committee passed a Resolution, raising the import tariff on second-hand car tyres to "20% (of the shipment value), no less than EUR 20 per tyre" from "20%, no less than EUR 6.9 per tyre".

The import tariff on new tyres shall also be "20%, no less than EUR 20 per tyre".

The import tariff on second-hand passenger car tyres shall be changed to "20%, no less than EUR 20 per tyre" from current ad valorem duties of 20%.

As to the import tariff on aero tyres, a special tariff of EUR 20 shall be added apart from current ad valorem duties of 20%.

The Resolution has been released on the website of the Customs union, taking effect 30 days after the date of promulgation.
