Bangladesh Lowers Import Duties on Sugar for Stable Sugar Prices

As per a Bangladesh newspaper on Sept. 2, 2010, in order to maintain stable market prices, Bangladesh Government decided to continue with the exemption from import duties on non-refined sugar which was set in July 2010, and meanwhile provided that the import duties on refined sugar shall be reduced as of Sept. 15 to 2,000 taka per ton from current 4,000 taka per ton.
