South Africa Removes Import Duties on Automotive-Engine Pistons

 
As indicated in the Report No. 347 of South Africa's International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC), it is recommended for South Africa to remove import duties on automotive-engine pistons, which the country has not produced domestically any more, since such duties can only add to unnecessary expenses by related domestic consumers and enterprises.

Accordingly, the Government of South Africa issued on Oct. 1, 2010 its Announcement No. 33585, which declares the removal as from Oct. 11, 2010 of all import duties on automotive-engine pistons under South Africa's HS Code 8409.91.27.
