Egypt to Reduce Import Tariffs on Automobiles from Europe

According to the Agreement reached by and between Egypt and the EU, as from Jan. 1, 2011, Egypt will reduce tariffs by 8% on new automobiles imported from Europe.

The import tariff on automobiles of no more than 1,600cc will be reduced to 32%, while that on automobile of above 1,600cc will be reduced to 108%.

Based on the Free Trade Agreement reached by and between Egypt and the EU, as from 2010, Egypt’s import tariffs on European products will be reduced by 10% each year to zero in 2019.
