Kazakhstan Issues New Customs Export Tariff on Petroleum Products

Recently, the Government of Kazakhstan issued new customs export tariff on petroleum products. The export tariff on crude oil is USD 20 per ton; tariff on light petroleum products is USD 98.13 per ton and tariff on heavy petroleum products is USD 65.42 per ton.

There are some exceptional circumstances in this announcement. For example, the digging enterprises, signing product sharing agreements with the Government of Kazakhstan or other relevant authorities before January 2009, as well as the digging enterprises who have signed land-use right agreements don’t need do make payment of this tariff.

The export tariffs on petroleum products issued by the Government of Kazakhstan in August are as follows: USD 20 per ton on crude oil, USD 99.71 per ton on light petroleum products and USD 66.47 per ton on heavy petroleum products.

It is predicted by the Kazakhstan Ministry of Finance that the income of export tariff on petroleum in the year of 2011 will be KZT 421.4 billion (one USD equals to KZT 147).
