Russia Plans to Impose Special Tariff on Caramel

Recently, the Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade issued final decision on supporting measure investigation into caramel Russia imported from abroad, planning to impose special tariff of USD 294.1 per ton on imported caramel. On March 11, 2010, Russia initiated supporting measure investigation into imported caramel. According to the statistics of the industry, the involved amount of Chinese enterprises reached USD 8,110,000 in 2009, 65 enterprises involved. The biggest source of caramel imports of Russia is Ukraine.
