According to the report from the Russia News on December 8, 2010, Dmitry Wade Cove, chief negotiation representative of Russia's entry into WTO, said that Russia would gradually reduce export tariff on log after Russia entering into the WTO. The current tariff is 25% of the clearance price, but not under Euro 15 per cube-meter. Before this, it was said that Russia had come to an agreement with the EU that Russia would continue to stop increasing tariff on log till 2011 before its entry into the WTO. According to the decree by the Russian Government, Russia would impose restricted tariff on log exports from the year of 2009, which was 80% of its clearance price, and not under Euro 50 per cube-meter. But the Russian Government postponed this plan twice in accordance with the demands by the EU in the year of 2009 and 2010.
