Uzbekistan in 2011 to Cancel Customs Import VAT Preferences on Part of Medicines

According to reports from local media, from January 1, 2011, the Government of Uzbekistan plans to cancel preferences for customs import value-added tax on part of medicines, whose capacity in Uzbekistan can satisfy local demands. This move aims at supporting Uzbekistan's pharmaceutical enterprises.

"UzFarmIndustry" State Joint Stock Company and Uzbekistan's Ministry of Health are now jointly formulating the list of relevant medicines.
