Sri Lanka Lowers Import Duties on Consumer Goods

Recently, Sri Lanka has successively lowered import duties on consumer goods like milk powder and gasoline, that of milk powder down from 50 rupees/kg to 28 rupees/kg and that of imported petroleum down by 50%, in order to mitigate the importing inflation caused by rising commodity prices on international markets.
