India Plans to Reduce Import Tariff by 5% on LNG

According to the reports by the India's Financial Express on February 15, 2011, the Government of India is making research on reducing import tariff by 5% on liquefied natural gas with its purpose of supporting the enterprises consuming liquefied natural gas like electricity power plants, chemical fertilizer enterprises, etc.

At the same time, the Government of India is also discussing reducing the basic tariff from 7.5% to 2.5% on gas and diesel oil. These measures mentioned above will be announced among the budget of the financial year 2011-2012.
