On April 5, 2011, Brazil said that it would impose penalty duties on specific goods imported from China and the United States in order to prevent the influx of low-price imported goods.

Brazil will impose anti-dumping duty of USD 4.1 per kilogram on several artificial fibers originating in China.

Brazil's Ministry of Industry and Trade said that these tariff measures, valid for five years, were to meet the demands from Brazilian textile industry.
