Vietnam to Increase Iron Ore Export Tariff

According to "Vietnam Economic Times" on April 8, 2011, in order to reduce iron ore exports, Vietnam's Ministry of Finance is asking for opinions about increasing export tariff rates on iron commodities under its HS Code 2601.

According to proposal from the Ministry, export tariffs levied on sintered and unsintered iron ores and concentrates will be raised to 40%, which is 10 percentage points higher than the rate implemented currently.
