Belarus Raises Export Duty on Crude Oil and Oil Products

Belarusian authorities have decided to raise export duties on oil and oil products that are exported from a country outside the customs union. Appropriate resolution № 557, signed by the Council of Ministers on April 29, began to operate on May 1. Now the fee per ton of crude oil will be $453.7 instead of $423.7.

Duty on crude oil with a sulfur content (other than crude oil that is extracted at the Vankor oil and condensate gas deposit) is equal to $211.7 per ton; light oil (light distillates, middle distillates) - $304 per ton, reported in the government.

Export duty on heavy petroleum products (liquid fuels, oils, waste oils) has now amounted to $211.8; propane, butane, ethylene, propylene, butylene, butadiene and other liquefied gases - $130.2.

Duty on commercial gasoline is set at $408.3; petroleum jelly, mineral waxes, and similar products - $211.8. In addition, they have also increased the rate of export duty on petroleum coke and bitumen and other residues of petroleum oils or oils, obtained from bituminous minerals ($211.8 per ton), benzene, toluene and xylenes ($304).
