Vietnam to Remove Raw-Cashew Import Tariff

By May 16, 2011 report of Vietnam's investment newspaper, Vietnam's Ministry of Finance predicts that unpeeled raw cashews will be exempted from its 5% import tariff.

By Vietnam's cashew association, the tariff exemption will be beneficial to the import of raw cashews and the export of processed cashews, thus creating more jobs.

At present, the country needs 600,000-700,000 tons of raw cashews each year, 50% by imports.
