Customs Union Recovers Tariff Rates on Three Agricultural Products from June 1, 2011

According to Interfax (Moscow, May 31, 2011), Customs Union decided to end zero tariff measure which started from Nov.23, 2010 on buckwheat, potato and cabbage. In 2010, drought caused the decrease in output of the three mentioned crops, and the purpose of the zero tariff policy in 2010 was to stabilize commodity prices.

From June 1, 2011, the tariffs on those three agricultural products respectively are 5% on breeding potatoes, 15% on potatoes for starch manufacturing and new potatoes, 15% on cabbages, 5% on all kinds of buckwheat.
