Russia Customs Proposes Higher Hi-Tech Import Tariffs

According to Russian newspaper of August 15, Russia Customs authority proposes raising import tariff to 10% on 19 high-tech products like cellphones, air-conditioners, digital cameras, car navigators, and printers, with proper raising also on zero-tariff computers, wired or wireless communication accessories, etc.

It is estimated that such tariff raising will increase USD 1.05 billion annually for Russian federal budget revenue.
