On Dec. 5, 2011, the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) announced its anti-dumping and anti-subsidy ruling on industrial injury by cut-to-length carbon steel plates originating in India, Indonesia, Italy, South Korea and Japan, as follows:
Revoking the existing anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duty orders on cut-to-length carbon-quality steel plates from India, Indonesia and South Korea would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to related U.S. industries within a reasonably foreseeable time.
Revoking the existing anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duty orders on such products from Italy would not be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to related U.S. industries within a reasonably foreseeable time.
Revoking the anti-dumping duty order on such products from Japan would not be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to related U.S. industries within a reasonably foreseeable time.
As a result of the Commission's affirmative determinations, the existing orders on those products from India, Indonesia and South Korea will remain in place.
As a result of its negative determinations, the existing orders on those from Italy and Japan will be revoked.
