Custom Import Duty on Buses, Lorries & Trucks Removed in Srilanka

The Srilanka's custom import duties charged in the importation of buses, lorries, trucks and new diesel lorry engines have been removed, in keeping with the proposals made in the 2012 Budget.

The custom import duty charged in the importation of tires used for lorries and buses too have been reduced by 50%, the Ministry of Finance and Planning said.

The measure has been taken to encourage the importation of good quality buses in order to maintain a high standard of tourist and passenger services and to ensure the efficient transport sof goods in the country.
