Brazil Suspends Anti-Dumping On Toluene From U.S., Argentina

Brazil suspended the anti-dumping measures applied to U.S.- and Argentine-produced toluene diisocyanate for one year, Brazil's trade ministry said on Mar. 26, 2012.

The ministry took the action because the only factory in Brazil that produces the chemical compound, also known as TDI, has suspended production.

The anti-dumping measures were originally announced in November of last year, and were supposed to last for up to five years.

TDI is a compound that is used to make polyurethane, glues, varnishes and other products that are used by the furniture, mattress and automotive industries.
