EU Opens Antidumping Investigation into Imports of Ukrainian Steel Tubes

[2012-04-05 10:12:41]

The European Commission has started an antidumping investigation into imports of welded tubes, pipes and hollow profiles made of steel (apart from stainless steel) or iron (apart from cast iron) with commodity codes 7306 61 92 and 7306 61 99 from Ukraine, Turkey and Macedonia, reads an official report issued on March 31, 2012.

The dumping inquiry stems from a February 16 complaint by the Welded Steel Tubes Industry's committee on behalf of European Union manufacturers that account for more than a quarter of the production of welded tubes, pipes and hollow profiles in the EU, according to the report.

Ukrainian manufacturers are given 15 days to inform the European Commission on their readiness to participate in the investigation.

The commission has nine months to decide whether to impose provisional anti-dumping duties and the investigation is to be finished in 15 months.
