Vietnam to Levy High Duties on Non-Quota Imports

Reported by a Vietnamese investment newspaper of June 13, Vietnam Ministry of Finance is making a catalog of tariff quota-controlled import-export goods and duty rates.
If beyond the set quotas, the cataloged goods will be subject to high duty rates, including 80%, 85% or 100% on sugar, beet sugar or sucorza sugar respectively; 80% and 90% on tobacco, unprocessed tobacco and tobacco waste; 50% and 60% on salt, crystallized salt and crystallized sodium chloride; and 80% on eggs.
