Russia Lowers Rice Import Duty

According to Interfax news of August 24, Russia starts to substantially cut down rice import duty from August 23, the new rate at 15% but not less than 0.045 euro/kg (formerly 0.12 euro/kg).

The country, mainly importing rice from Vietnam, Burma and Cambodia, imported totally 172,000 tons of rice in 2011, 15% of which were black rice and fragrant rice.
