Brazil Raises 100 Import Duties

Brazil's foreign-trade commission decides to raise 100 import duties for one year, aiming to encourage domestic production amid global trade competition.

Reportedly, the Brazilian import duty on bike/car tires will be heightened from 16% to 25%, mineral oil duty heightened from 4% to 25%, aluminum plate duty heightened from 14% to 20%, potato duty from 14% to 25%, also involving the duties on glasses, tiles, machinery, freight cars and drug materials.
