U.S. to Levy Two-Anti Duties on Some Asian Steel Pipes
[2012-10-19 17:07:33]
On October 16, U.S. Department of Commerce set final duty rates on steel pipes from Asian countries of India, Vietnam, Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with antidumping duties imposed on circular welded carbon-steel pipes from them and anti-subsidy measures on the pipes from India, Oman and the UAE.
Additionally, before the duty rates take effect, it is necessary for the U.S. International Trade Commission to determine whether those imports have injured the steel manufacturers in the U.S.
In 2011, the U.S. imports of steel pipes reached respectively USD 64.6 million from India, USD 50.1 million from Vietnam, USD 28.1 million from Oman, and USD 53.9 million from the UAE, the latter three risen year-on-year.
