Jordan Safeguard Duty on Iron/Steel Bars

 　　　 
On February 8, 2013, Jordan made final rulings of safeguard measures on imported iron/steel bars: the imported products made a material damage to the industries in Jordan and there is a causal relationship between the rising imports and the material damage; therefore, the decisions are made as below:

A protective tariff of 80 dinar/ton is levied on the involved products under HS Codes 7213.105, 7214.105, 7214.205, 7214.305, 7214.915, 7214.995, 7215.105, 7215.505, 7215.905;

The products under HS Code 7213.206 are treated differently by their import purposes. If imported as steel products rather than raw materials, they will be subject to the protective tariff of 80 dinar/ton.

The safeguard measures are valid for 3 years, excluding developing countries/regions like China, Chinese Hong Kong, etc.

At present, the involved products mainly come from Ukraine, UAE, Turkey, Romania, and Italy.
