Dalian Export Household Appliances Mildly More in Jan-Apr

During this January-April, Dalian Customs District had exports of household appliances (including electric fans, air conditioners, refrigerators, DVD players, washing machines, microwave ovens, TV sets, digital cameras, etc.) totaling 1.83 billion yuan, up 14.4% year-on-year (YOY).
In April alone, such exports reached 490 million yuan, a big increase of 30.6% YOY, while down 5.9% from this March.
USA and Japan were the major markets: in the four months, the exports to USA reached 920 million yuan, up 30% YOY; the exports to Japan 520 million yuan, up 2.4% YOY; the two together accounted for 78.5% of the total export.
In the first four months, color TV sets were the largest export item, valued to be 760 million yuan, up 52.3% YOY, accounting for 41.3% of the total export. In the same period, export of air conditioners reached 540 million yuan, up 16% YOY, accounting for 29.7%; DVD players reached 390 million yuan, down 16% YOY, accounting for 21.1%.
