Shantou City “One Belt and One Road” Trade Up in First Half 2017

According to Shantou Customs statistics, in the first half of this year, Guangdong’s Shantou City had export-import trade with the countries along the “One Belt and One Road” totaling 9.82 billion yuan, up 4.9% year-on-year (YOY), accounting for 37.4% of the City’s gross foreign trade; therein, its export value was 6.21 billion yuan, down 3.5%, and import value 3.62 billion yuan, up 23.4%.

Regarding trade partners: In the first half year, Shantou trade with ASEAN reached 5.09 billion yuan, accounting for 51.8%; trade with Saudi Arabia and Qatar reached 710 million yuan and 600 million yuan respectively, up 58.9% and 2.3 times respectively; trade with Poland reached 130 million yuan, up 46.7%; trade with Russia reached 390 million yuan, up 70.7%; trade with India reached 550 million yuan, up 43.7%.

Regarding export commodities: In the first half year, Shantou exported labor-intensive products worth 4.02 billion yuan, accounting for 64.7% of the total export, including textile clothing worth 2.14 billion yuan and toys 1.51 billion yuan; over the same period, exported electromechanical products worth 1.35 billion yuan, up 2.8%; exported agricultural products worth 660 million yuan, up 14.5%.
