Shanghai-Canada Trade Value Up YOY in First Quarter, 2019

According to Shanghai Customs statistics, for the first quarter of this year, Shanghai’s export-import trade with Canada totaled 18.5 billion yuan, an increase of 6.5% over the same period last year (YOY). Therein, export to Canada reached 13.08 billion yuan, up 5.3%; import from Canada reached 5.42 billion yuan, up 9.4%; trade surplus was 7.66 billion yuan, up 4%.
In March, the trade with Canada reached 6.64 billion yuan, an increase of 30% from the previous month and increase of 34.7% YOY. Therein, Shanghai export was 4.53 billion yuan, up 29% MOM and up 38.5% YOY; Shanghai import was 2.11 billion yuan, up 32.3% MOM and up 27.4% YOY.
