Export of Hi-tech Products Growing Flourishingly in Wenzhou

According to the statistics, the export volume of hi-tech products was USD 316 million in Wenzhou in the first three quarters, growing by 44.83% over the same period of the previous year, 27% over the general export growth rate of the city. Therefore the growing trend is very significant when the foreign trade is in recession today. Wenzhou has adopted encouraging policies over years to guide the enterprises to adjust the export product structure and increase the percentage of export of product with high added value and has achieved quite success. As far as the composition of hi-tech product export for the first three quarters is concerned, Wenzhou has formed a hi-tech industrial structure focusing on life science and electronic technology while computer and communication, computer integration manufacture technology and photoelectric are also considered. From January to September, the export volume for life science and electronic technology products reached USD 159 million and USD 120 million, growing by 55.21% and 31.61% respectively over the same period of the previous year. However, we have to understand that the percentage of export of hi-tech product in gross export in Wenzhou was only 3.51% and in export of hi-tech product of the province 5.61% for the first three quarters. The government shall direct and encourage the enterprises to enhance the integration of scientific and technical resource, increase scientific and technical investment, improve the ability of developing market and creating market as well as increase capital support for medium and small enterprise with hi-tech talents.
