Burmese Rubies and Jade Prohibited from entering the U.S.
With effect from September 29, 2008, all shipments containing rubies and jade extracted from Burma (also known as Myanmar), including articles made of these precious stones, are prohibited from entering the United States.
With effect from September 29, 2008, all shipments containing rubies and jade extracted from Burma (also known as Myanmar), including articles made of these precious stones, are prohibited from entering the United States.

Rubies and jade extracted from other countries and their related articles may still be imported into the U.S; however, this is on condition that the importer maintains records of all transactions related to the manufacture and the transportation of the stones and articles for at least five years from the date of entry into the U.S.
