Californian vintners exploited China extensively

On October 21, Californian wines' promotions were held in Beijing. 76 Californian vintners promoted their wines there. It's the first time for Californian vintners to exploit Chinese wine market extensively. The related person of California wine industry said that Chinese wine market had large potential and it attracted many foreign vintners.

The statistics from America Wine Association showed that the sales of Californian wines exceeded 457 million gallons last year, up 2% over that of 2006. The gross earnings of wines were 18.9 billion dollars last year, up 6%.

In recent years, China's wine imports kept on increasing. According to the Customs' statistics, wine imports through Guangdong increased from 3140 kiloliters (2005) to 13920 kiloliters (2007).

The professionals said that more and more Chinese consumers loved wines and they began to attach importance to quality. And imported wines seized more and more shares in Chinese wine market. Foreign vintners were very bullish on Chinese wine market.
