Trade of Romania and China in the First 10 Months Increased More than 40%

Based on the figure issued by Romania Trade Promotion Center, from January to October of 2008, total trade volume of Romania and China Mainland reached EUR2.141b, up by 45.6% year-on-year, continuously maintaining the high-speed growth. Among them, Romanian export amounted to EUR <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /> 145m , up by 12.6% year-on-year; Romanian import EUR1.996b, up by 48.8% year-on-year; the trade deficit of Romania stood at EUR1.851b, up by 52.7% year-on-year.
China continuously remains the status of Romanian fourth largest import source country outside European Union from the beginning of this year, following Russia, Turkey and Kazakhstan, accounting for 13.20% of total import from outside European Union over the same period last year;China fell to the 13 th place among the rankings of export countries outside European Union, surpassed by Lebanon, accounting for 1.68% of Romanian total export volume from the same period last year.
