Of the 55 ethnic groups in China, 51 can be found in Yunnan. 25 native ethnic groups have been living in Yunnan for generations. 15 of these groups can only be found in Yunnan Province. They are Bai, Hani, Yi, Lisu, Wa, Lahu, Naxi, Jingpo, Bulang, Pumi, Nu, Deang, Dulong and Jinuo.
From generation to generation, the people of all ethnic groups in Yunnan have lived and worked in great harmony, peace and contentment. As a result, Yunnan has long enjoyed unity and stability both on its borders and in its social interaction.
