The fifth China Products Fair kicked off on Tuesday in Jordan's capital of Amman.
About 150 Chinese firms came to the fair with their latest high value-added products aimed at the Middle East market, said Wang Qingjiang, an organizer of the fair.
"Some products have competitive quality with those from Europe and the United States, though priced 75 percent lower," he added.
The fair, which covers about 10,000 square meters, is divided into four areas, including machinery, automobile parts, building and a complex, he added.
The fair has attracted not only the Jordanians and Iraqi businessmen who are based here, but also neighboring Palestinians and Lebanese, said Ma Jianchun, the economic and commercial counselor with the Chinese embassy.
Meanwhile, Wang Xinpei, head of the Chinese delegation, highlighted the stable political situation and geographical advantage Jordan enjoys in the region.
He also voiced hope to make the China products fair in Jordan to be Mideast's Canton fair since it would greatly facilitate Mideast businessmen to Chinese products.
Canton Fair, known as China Import and Export Fair, is China's biggest trade show that is held in southern China's Guangdong province annually and attracts tens of thousands of overseas buyers.
The fourth China Products Fair, which was held here in August, 2007 attracting 53 Chinese firms, witnessed deals worth about 2 million U.S. dollars on the scene and some 22-million-dollar preliminary agreements, as well as investment offers worth 6 million dollars.
