Shanghai municipality implements hi-tech achievements transformation project recognition system and sets up special institutions, which are responsible for recognition of domestic and international hi-tech achievements transformation projects in the aspects of technology grade, market outlook, project risk, intellectual property rights and so on. Shanghai Municipal Government released <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /> Shanghai municipal hi-tech industry and technology category. Both legal person and natural person can apply for recognition of hi-tech achievements transformation projects in accordance with the category. Any program, meeting the requirement with the recognition can enjoy related preferential policies stipulated in the Regulations. So can the foreign investment enterprises registered in Shanghai and hi-tech achievements transformation projects newly developed in Shanghai and enjoying independent intellectual property rights.
