China's national card network operator China Unionpay (CUP) partnered Singapore's United Overseas Bank (UOB) on Tuesday to issue what it claims the first Singapore bank-issued credit card in China.
Both sides hope to target Singaporeans who are regular business travelers to China.
Card users will be able to enjoy easy card payments across China due to CUP's wide network of merchant terminals and ATMs.
According to data from CUP, the number of Singaporeans who visited China last year grew by 10 percent to 922,021 over the previous year, and 15 percent of them were on business trips.
