The Chinese Commodities Distribution Center in Europe has completed construction and held a ceremony to mark the occasion in the Hague Tuesday.
Zhang Wei, vice president of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and the Hague's Vice Mayor Henk Kool attended the ceremony.
The distribution center, which began construction five years ago, lies in the business area on the outskirts of the Hague, and is only 25 km away from Rotterdam, the largest port in Europe.
The center's convenient location makes it easy to transport Chinese shipping goods to major European markets using the developed Dutch roads and railways.
The distribution center is undergoing its final touches now, and will be put into use next March.
With an exhibition area of 9,000 square meters, the center has 500 international-standard booths and a supermarket covering more than 10,000 square meters.
According to the center's chairman, Yang Jinfa, the Netherlands is China's second largest trading partner among European Union nations and many Chinese commodities enter Europe through the Dutch channel every year.
The center plans to attract 200 to 300 Chinese enterprises to base, with about 100 having confirmed they would join. The targeted commodities will be mainly furniture, construction material, toys, lamps, and so on, based on European market needs and the advantages of Chinese products.
